PyeongChang, Sep 15 2006 (Korea
Newswire)-- Korean broadcaster KBS announced that it will
air its September 15 prime-time news program from the ski
slopes of PyeongChang, generating a powerful message that
the country is serious about its Winter Olympic bid.
The state-run Korean Broadcasting System will air the 9 p.m.
news from the slopes of Gangwon Province¡¯s Yongpyong Resort,
which is to serve as the main venue for the 2014 PyeongChang
Winter Olympics.
PyeongChang 2014 is told the broadcaster will report on a
wide range of activities and projects related to the Winter
Olympic bid, including noteworthy international sports
trends, the status of competing Candidate Cities, and the
widespread enthusiasm for the PyeongChang campaign.
Gangwon Governor Jin-sun KIM, who is the PyeongChang 2014
executive president, will appear on the news program, at
which time he will encourage Korean citizens from all
corners of the country to get involved in the campaign to
host the 2014 Winter Games.
¡°Hosting the 2014 Winter Olympic Games is the desire of all
Koreans,¡± Gov. KIM said, ¡°and PyeongChang is more than
capable of delivering a successful Olympic Games that will
realize the highest ideals of the Olympic Movement.¡±
