Newswire)-- An organizing committee is up and running as
part of preparations for the Interski Congress 2007,
scheduled to kick off in late January in Korea¡¯s 2014 Winter
Olympic bid city of PyeongChang.
Hundreds of world-class skiers, ski instructors, and others
involved in snow sports instruction from around the world
will participate, in what is formally called the
¡°International Snowsport Instructors¡¯ Congress.¡±
Presentations, workshops and lectures are planned in concert
with the Interski General Assembly. Under the motto of ¡°Snow
Sports for All,¡± the Congress is scheduled to run from
January 27 to February 3 in PyeongChang, Gangwon Province.
The host venue of Yongpyong Resort is also one of the key
Winter Olympic venues in the PyeongChang 2014 Winter Olympic
bid.
To ensure the event is carried out at the highest possible
level, an Organizing Committee has been formed to manage
preparations. Its members include Hyeok-seung Kwon, mayor of
PyeongChang; Byun Tak, chairman of the Korea Ski
Association; Jin-sun KIM, governor of Gangwon Province and
executive president of PyeongChang 2014, and Eric Melmer,
the president of Interski International.
The quadrennial Interski Congress, most recently held in
Switzerland and Norway, is regarded as one of the world¡¯s
premier winter sports gatherings, and attracts more than
1,000 sports professionals involved in snow sports
instruction from over 30 countries. More information about
