Household
income & expenditure in Q2 of 2006 up 4.8% & 4.5%

The average monthly income per household amounted to 2.989
million won in the second quarter of 2006, up 4.8 percent
year on year. The real income rose by 2.4 percent from the
same quarter last year.
The average monthly consumption expenditure reached 2.0283
million won, an increase of 4.5 percent, or a 2.1 percent
rise in real income. The non-consumption expenditure of
nationwide households grew 6.6 percent to 375.9 thousand
won. The disposable income edged up 4.5 percent to 2,612.7
thousand won. The surplus value recorded 584.3 thousand won,
up 4.5 percent year on year. The average propensity to
consume remained the same as the previous year's 77.6
percent.
